This is an antique C. Bechstein Berlin Concert Model Upright Piano, dating from circa 1894, and is a remarkable example of late 19th-century German piano craftsmanship. It has unmistakeable character with the richly figured decorative detailing and brass fittings. The finish is a burr walnut, which is a particularly prized pattern, and is created by unusual growths in the walnut tree that produce the highly decorative and individualistic rich swirling patterns.
Manufactured in Berlin by C. Bechstein, one of Germany's most celebrated piano makers, this piano combines exceptional period craftsmanship with a beautifully distinctive appearance. At approximately 130 years old, it is as much a piece of musical history as it is an instrument.
