The previous owner:

"This Bösendorfer 185 was owned by well known Cape Town pianist Sibyl Whiteman Morris for most of her life.  Sibyl was brought up in a musical family, both parents being accomplished pianists. She made her musical debut with the Cape Town Municipal Orchestra in 1955 at the age of 17. In the same year she traveled to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Later she spent a number of years at the Musieklyceum in Amsterdam, where she was awarded the Prix d'Excellence for piano performance. After performing and winning prizes throughout Europe for a number of years, she returned to South Africa in 1966 where she continued to perform, lecture and teach piano. She took ownership of this piano from the late 60s. In later years she was a presenter on Fine Music Radio, and released a number of CDs of her performances. This piano was her lifelong instrument and she played on it daily until she passed away in 2023. Her children remember growing up the sounds of this piano always drifting through the house."
